Yale Section of Geriatric Medicine

The mission of the Section of Geriatrics in the Department of Internal Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine is to improve the function, independence, and quality of life of older persons. The Section trains resident physicians, medical students, fellows, and attending physicians in the most effective care of the elderly, promotes innovative multidisciplinary research programs, trains junior investigators to become future leaders, and offers our patients the highest level of clinical care.

Section of Geriatrics Celebrates Fellows Graduation


On June 24th, the Section of Geriatric Medicine held its annual commencement gathering.  Four Clinical Fellows and two T32 Post-doctoral Fellows completed their training.  The graduating research fellows have accepted faculty positions at the School of Medicine.  On July 1st, The Section of Geriatric Medicine welcomed graduate, Andrew B. Cohen, MD, DPhil, and The Section of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine welcomed graduate Lauren E. Ferrante, MD.


During the graduating ceremony, the Section also welcomed four new clinical fellows and one new T32 post-doctoral fellow.


We congratulate all our graduates and wish them the best of luck for their future careers.
